LSD – Vic Road – Aberdeen Reservoir

2:13:22, 20.5K. Started OK on Vic Rd & kept steady, but really slowed second half and splits are pathetic, warm weather not really an excuse – but most important is to do the distance and accomplished that.  Hopefully will reap benefits later. HR 131/150. Activity/17572658

Splits: Vic Rd 31:53, Aberdeen path to reservoir 1:01:36. Pagoda 1:36:31, Gate Pokfulam reservoir 1:57:23.

Victoria is a bitch!

1:17:10, 10K. Hill running at a steady pace, easy on the flats.  Not bad as foirst attempt at such brutal climbing for a few years! Took easy on ascent to High West and even easier descending as I’ve become totally over cautious these days- will have to run that out of the system before KOTH.  HR 136/154.  Activity/17491175

Bowen – 13

1:04:51, 13K. Moderate Pace, Bowen 1st Leg 19.18, 2nd 18.53.  Very smooth despite still some stiffness from Sundays Race.  Hopefully massive room for improvement – can I go under an hour for this route?  HR 142/155.  Activity/17410816

Recovery Run #3 – Damn!

Conduit – Hatton – Xylo 3.  55;50, 9.5Km.  Legs slightly better but useless up & down hills, expected to be more loose today and a little dissappointed by the pins reaction to Lantau Peaks.  Don’t expect to be back to normal unti Sunday at this rate – lack of recent training over suitable terrain to blame I reckon.  No matter, will still try to do the Bowen 13 tomorrow. 45:30, 6K.  Second recovery run – legs even worse than Monday, really slow and just trudged it out in the hope I was doing some benefit – the Lantau peaks are brutal on the legs! HR 111/134.  Activity/17223314

Action Asia Lantau 2 Peaks race 20.5K

3:22:10, 20.5K. Result 

IMG_2453First race of the season. Started Steady and felt good until the descent from Lantau peak.  Lack of endurance training really came to the fore & struggled home for 3Hr 22 mins and 22nd OA. Lots of positives to take from the race and plenty of incentive to pull the finger out & get the fitness back. One thing strange, HR really low throughout, generally 153/4 on uphills, would expect >160!!! – not sure why? HR: 147/161
